My Approach to Assessment
I practice narrative therapy under the supervision of Dr. Tiffany Lin. I've learned to clarify immediately that there is no writing required in narrative therapy. Narrative therapy is a lesser known but widely well-respected evidence-based framework that sees you and I collaborating to find new, truer-feeling stories of growth tangled up within old, soul-depleting stories of stuck-ness.
My approach to narrative work incorporates elements of mindfulness, parts, and strengths-based therapy. All manner of identities are most welcome in my office. As a narrative therapist, I'm both creative and collaborative, if occasionally challenging - eager not only to hear your story, but to ask you all manner of questions about it, and to kindle in you as its author a spark of creative, workable, growable energy. My ideal outcome with clients is often not a happy ending, but a daunting - yet manageable - beginning.
