My Approach To Therapy
_____
Empathy, authenticity, and unconditional acceptance are the fundamental qualities I cultivate in the relationships with my clients. I try to create a safe place where they can be vulnerable and validated while also gaining the room for self-compassion, hope, healing, and change. My approach to therapy is holistic, though I am drawn to attachment and person-centered theories within a multicultural framework. I also strongly resonate with the research on shame, vulnerability, and wholehearted living by Brene Brown. I value collaboration and support in the therapeutic process while also being direct when providing feedback. Essentially, the theories and interventions I use vary and depend upon my client’s unique presenting issue, cultural background, needs, and readiness.
