My Approach To Therapy

_____

My approach to therapy is very interactive and humanistic. I prefer to meet my clients where they are in the process of change and join them in determining where they want to go in the future. This may mean looking at issues from the past that keep clients "stuck" and unable to move forward in a healthy and productive way or identifying current situations where they may need help learning and using effective problem-solving and symptom management skills. I am a firm believer that the therapeutic process begins with a positive therapeutic alliance and work diligently to assure my clients that they are important in their own healing process. My therapeutic style incorporates theoretically sound and proven interventions, while keeping in mind the unique qualities and attributes every client brings to the therapeutic setting. My philosophy is that each client brings with them a specific set of life experiences (both positive and negative) that provide opportunity for positive change and actualization into the best possible version of themselves they can be. My purpose, therefore, is to help them reach that goal.
